Dr Martin Prew

Martin is the director of the CEPD. He has worked in the education field for the last 27 years in both Zimbabwe and South Africa as teacher, lecturer, organisation manager and government official. As a teacher he co-authored three history text books which have sold over a million copies and are still widely used in Zimbabwean school and universities. In the last decade Martin has written many articles and presented at conferences on a range of topics in a number of countries. Most recently he has been International Programme Director for Link Community Development and before that Director for Education Management and Governance Development in the national Department of Education. Martin is passionate about education and is excited at the prospect of being the third director or CEPD in its history. He believes that this important organisation has a bright future both in South Africa and in sub Sahara Africa, driving an agenda of southern research to inform education and skills development policy that is relevant to African states.
